Tŷ Hafan‘s week 6 of their precious moments campaign is the letter ‘O’, for ‘overjoyed’.
Whilst my pregnancy had been good, the last six weeks had seen complications, twin 1 had stopped growing at 30 weeks, and every bit of care and effort from the NHS had seen our goal of 36 weeks met.
And so, this was our beginning, our family of five.
And now, we look back at this photo too, a few weeks on, we recognise the look, sheer exhaustion yes, but definitely retaining the awe of our family. If you have a moment, please take the time and share, Tŷ Hafan are hoping many of us will share these #PreciousMoments and in turn raise awareness for the work undertaken, to make sure that all precious moments can be held close.
Because this is what Tŷ Hafan strive to do, to ensure as many families as possible across Wales get to hold onto their precious moments, as the Children’s Hospice for Wales, Tŷ Hafan looks after life-limited children, young people and their families, ensuring they make the most of every precious moment.
Tŷ Hafan is supporting more and more families and there is a reality to how this support can be kept free of charge. With very limited public funding the charity needs to raise £4m each year to provide these services. Examples of how our support can help include:
● £10 could pay for outreach play therapy for a family and their child
● £15 could pay for half an hour of physiotherapy to ease a child’s pain
● £23 could pay for an hour of support for a family.
You can support the charity, financially, through donating unwanted goods to the network of shops, and this Christmas by raising awareness on your social media channels.
Please follow Tŷ Hafan and get involved in sharing your #preciousmoments with Tŷ Hafan.
