Tŷ Hafan is a charity in Wales, a children’s hospice. Since 1999 the team have been looking after life-limited children, young people and their families, ensuring they make the most of every precious moment. From diagnosis Tŷ Hafan takes the journey with them and are there for as long as necessary. All this is completely free of charge for families in Wales that need the support.
So, it seems only fitting that Tŷ Hafan is getting their message out, about the precious moments we all hold in our hearts.
Each week in the run up to Christmas, one of the most precious times of the year for children, Tŷ Hafan is using its fantastic support network to raise awareness of how important it is to make the most of our moments, as Tŷ Hafan does for families when they need the support most. On Twitter, Facebook and Instagram you can find a word for each week. The past week has been based on ‘Exciting’, and I couldn’t help but think of all the moments where my little ones have been spilling over with that uncontrollable and tangible energy, which really is a joy to behold- whether it be about a holiday, seeing friends, or starting school- there really are so many precious moments I have been fortunate to witness in my three wonderful children. And the focus on precious moments is what Tŷ Hafan focuses on for all families which it supports at their hospice, and watching Alice and her family really does bring this home:
Tŷ Hafan is supporting more and more families there is a reality to how this support can be kept free of charge, and for Tŷ Hafan our support can help:
● £10 could pay for outreach play therapy for a family and their child
● £15 could pay for half an hour of physiotherapy to ease a child’s pain
● £23 could pay for an hour of support for a family.
You can support the charity, financially, through donating unwanted goods to the network of shops, and this Christmas by raising awareness on your social media channels.
