The Very Hungry Caterpillar is an absolute favourite in our home. From the first cot book we bought when CM was born, to all the follow on books and favourite toys which have been welcomed. And not only is it a book loved at home, it becomes a key focus of a child’s learning at school- introducing numbers, colours, healthy foods and lifecycles- it was amazing to see how much CM learned through this book in Reception, and with the boys energies clearly focused on starting big school in September I am once again adding Eric Carle’s classic book to the front of the bookshelf.
So when Wild & Wolf got in touch about all of their amazing ranges, well you really could spend hours on their website with so many fantastic ranges. My eye was drawn to how much Very Hungry Caterpillar merchandise is now available and what a wonderful addition it would make to any home.
The divided plates and cutlery definitely got my vote, there is nothing quite as much fun as a picnic on a blanket- wherever as far as the children are concerned, the park, the back garden or in the lounge- making an occasion of a meal always improves enthusiasm for a meal. And for some reason, the same is true of divided plates. We had divided plates when the children were younger, and a sign of growing up is being promoted to the round china plates, and whilst this was welcomed with excitement, now we have the excitement of the divided plates for special days.
The plates themselves are great quality, and quite lovely just on the worktop as the design is so colourful and uplifting. And of course, the detail on the cutlery is a joy for little hands and eyes.
But the definite bonus of such wonderful crockery is knowing that the children are going to be excited to try whatever they are presented, new tastes and old, and for me, as well as aesthetically pleasing, empty plates make my day!
