Project Mc2 has a new episode” is a statement which grabs CM’s attention. The Netflix Project Mc2 series has released a new episode with its fantastic way of ensuring STEAM is firmly embedded in the lives of children. Project Mc2 has the tag line ‘Smart is the New Cool’ and for CM this is definitely the case.
CM was especially excited to see the Project Mc2 newly styled characters. She’s already started stalking toy sites for the new Experiment dolls. So, of course, I shared a sneak peek of the range with her:Project Mc2 is defined by how difficult it is for CM to choose a favourite character. As she is growing and learning, her favour towards each of the six main characters seem to change. It’s good to see six equally intelligent and cool girls in a series for children. CM loves how the science comes together, the storyline being that the girls are using their love of science and spy skills to undertake missions for top-secret organisation, NOV8™ (innovate).
CM was fortunate enough to receive Adrienne Attoms (A2) as part of a goody pack from Project Mc2.Which of course made Adrienne her favourite as she watched the new episode of series 4. Which I of course loved, because before Christmas she received McKeyla McAlister (Mc2), and I love that now CM is getting to the stage where personality and interest is just as important as appearance (you know, compared to when Lau Lau was her favourite Waybuloo because she was purple…).
Like McKeyla, Adrienne comes with a fantastic experiment, perfect for young girls, and the free time the school holidays offer. Adrienne has a bath fizz experiment so comes with all of the tools, but it’s worth noting not the ingredients.
I fell foul of this with McKeyla. After letting CM take her new doll into ‘bring a toy to school day’ before Christmas. I didn’t appreciate creating the light bulb would require a battery and glycerine. Bad mum.
It’s worth noting that each of the Experiment Dolls will need household items as components. But you really will have so much fun, ever since discovering Science Sparks’ Tea Party I’ve learned how engaging good science can be.So yes. I’ve been tasked with a shopping list of citric acid and epsom salt so we can create our bath fizz.
And I have no doubt, given CM’s 8th birthday is drawing close that the remaining characters- Camryn Coyle (C2), Bryden Bandweth (B2), Ember Evergreen (E2) and Devon D’Marco (D2) – will be featuring on a gift list as CM creates the BFF girl squad and all of their experiments.
Fortunately, for now, CM is completely content taking some timeout and watching her favourite series on Netflix. And I can’t but hope she’s daydreaming about where an interest in S.T.E.A.M. might take her.
