Fisher Price: Imaginext Morphin Megazord Review

B & E are massive Power Rangers fans, I’m not sure how some things happen, but at some point in time they discovered them and there’s no getting away from it. I think it’s somehow linked to their obsession with all things ‘ninja’, and we now have Ninjago, Chima, Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers on their most favorite list.

We have slowly built up a stock of play figures and I do love watching their imaginations run away as they go on all sorts of adventures from the comfort of our home.

The excitement caused by the arrival of a new Power Rangers toy was almost too much to bear as I couldn’t get it out of the box as fast as is acceptable when you’re 4. But once within their grasp the most fun and excitement spread around the house.

Fun with the Morphin Megazord

At 70cm tall, the Imaginext Power Rangers Morphing Megazord has some great features to keep children entertained. With lots of activation pads, which are familiar across the Imaginext range, the Megazord transforms to reveal all its fun. The power pad on Megazord’s shoulder opens up the chest to reveal a cannon, with another power pad to activate the disks and triggers to launch the cannons.

Another power pad on the Megazord’s leg reveals another projectile launcher and a chopping foot:

As well as the power pads, there are some other great features, the back of the Megazord has a caged area, a lift and a place to position your Power Ranger in the Megazord’s head to act as the control centre, with light up eyes. The arms are posable and the hand can grip and hold things, given all of this functionality, there are a lot of adventures to be had.

The boys have loved playing with their Megazord, there is the excitement of the sheer scale, that it came with the red and black Rangers was a huge plus for me, and that it’s functionality compares to their other Imaginext playsets means there’s a feeling of familiarity in its operation- and they haven’t managed to break their other playsets which means there is an implied quality.

And if the photos don’t give enough away- the boys decided to do their own demo!
