I really want to make this project work in 2017. My favourite photos of 2016 are of my three. But sometimes, it just seems more difficult. So happy are they in their varying twosomes. As a team of three it is always a temporary alliance, their interests so diverse it isn’t as likely to engage all three.
In saying that, as a three, they have the best of times. Life has become one of schooling. Days spent in different classrooms makes for more time outside of school to build their friendships. They have more time for each other, more patience. The boys especially are less weary of each other, there are less short tempers, and more time spent listening to their collective laughter.
And so, with the benefit of a fortnight together over Christmas, here are some of the photos I’ve collected.
So many consecutive days (how can there ever be too many?) spent bike riding, and timing laps.
Too many days (they start with their groans, and return home with rosy cheeks and so much happiness) doing the 3k Fonty Loop walking the dogs.
Of the last month of my 5 year-olds.
The relationship of these three remains incomprehensible. As a sibling, CM remains seemingly unaware of a twin bond, she just happens to have brothers who are twins. As twins, B and E are as similar and as different as they could possibly be, twins when emotion is at its highest, siblings whenever else.
CM at seven is stamping her authority on all of us. The boys, in comedy, are replicating. I can’t take them seriously enough yet to get upset. And they don’t hold their cool like CM.
