An invitation from Joe Bloggers will always introduce you to something a bit different, as well as some wonderful bloggers.
Finding out that Hillary’s would be introducing us to their wonderful new fabrics by way of crafting activities was met with lots of interest, and a little trepidation.
For I am the girl in your class whose uniform was always a little bit different. My jumper was a different shade, the gingham on my summer dress had a check a little bigger, the pinafore was a different style.
I was the girl who resented my handmade clothes. Whether sewn or knitted my mum had skills, now as a mum I regret not learning.
And so, the idea that I might be taken on this adventure, thanks to the Crafty Hen, to becoming someone who could create things thanks to material, a needle and thread.
The material was fantastic, such colourful prints to uplift any day.
And alongside a pattern to make it possible, materials to make more than home furnishings.
And it happened. I have photographic proof.
I created through sewing.
And Hillary’s were so impressed they also blogged about their adventures.
In a similar vein to pudding, I knew regardless of how much I celebrated, the proof would be in my mum’s assessment. Which was lucky as it was her birthday and I hadn’t managed to find a suitable gift.
She’s always said that homemade is the best type of gift.
On this occasion I think she was more than dazed and confused. Somehow not comprehending how such items could be associated with her daughter.
Thank you Hillary’s- my mum has gifts to treasure!
