Word of the Week #WotW

At work it seems we have ‘challenges’ and ‘opportunities’.

I’ve decided to pot with that,

Welcomed or unwelcomed;

Planned or unplanned;

With open arms or running in the other direction;

We have adventures.

This week was case in point,

Half term, and I’m working away Wednesday to Friday.

And I’ve grown rather accustomed to using my Monday flex-day to get the housework done.

Yes, a proper adventure for both the little people and me on how our week would pan out.

And of course, my three days away when the little people were at home was also ‘an adventure’.

Fortunately, I hope we managed to fit enough in to let this be our word of the week.

We’ve been in the kitchen trying out some new ideas, CM has a Welsh project as she will be celebrating the Eisteddfod on her return to school, so we created our own version of Bara Brith so as not to divert too much from our favoured fruit loaf, and I attempted a baking turn using polenta- which was definitely an unplanned success.

We ventured out on Wednesday, and whilst I thought, with four children on tow I’d only manage Castell Coch, somehow, despite a lack of coffee, we also managed the picnic, an afternoon at Techniquest and tea at Pizza Hut.

With no expectations we have had such a wonderful half term.
