Oh yes, I’m going straight in. A bold word of the week.
Wow!
I probably should add context. It has context.
Our lounge never recovered from Christmas, probably because straight after Christmas came the boys birthday.
And we knew we needed to introduce storage units to the children’s bedrooms but everything else just took priority.
But last Saturday I sold the plan: we’d have a wonderful day enjoying the sunshine and we wouldn’t leave for Ikea until 4 o’clock, when the day was almost done, we wouldn’t feel like we’d thrown a day away, and the store would be a bit quieter. And we’d only be overhauling CM’s bedroom, within limit, as everything I want to do seems to have knock-on considerations for other rooms.
And it went as planned, everything on the shopping list (because things go very wrong at Ikea without one!) was found, but then as we were leaving the hubby found something in bargain corner, he knew it was good but didn’t know how we’d use it, little did he know it was on my wishlist for the office. And so it came home with us.
And on Sunday our lounge became 33% more spacious as CM’s possessions were made at home in her bedroom.
And this week, slowly but slowly the office has more than a pathway to the desk, there is a floor.
And as the office becomes more organised, I am sure it is affecting my mind, I am starting to gain a little bit of control. I now have a storage for craft bits, stationery, Easter bits, Christmas bits, paints, stuff which can be recycled, you name it there’s a Kallax square full of it.
I got to start a new notebook this week too, there is nothing like the first blank page. The sense of optimism, of freedom, or being unscripted. Or making your own way.
And maybe, just maybe, next month we’ll get the other 66% of our lounge freed of toys.

April 26, 2015 at 08:26I love weeks like this! When I have a clear-out, move around, my mind feels more clear and I am more motivated. And if a new notebook’s involved, well, that’s just perfect then! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

May 4, 2015 at 20:01It’s nearly as good as getting everything on your to-do list ticked off- although these days that’s completely aspirational!

April 26, 2015 at 18:24Hi Debbie, 33% of a plan in one go is good going. Or maybe that’s just me? It just goes to show what a bit of organization can do and how it can have a positive knock on affect in other areas of life too.
Hope you manage the other 66% very soon!

May 6, 2015 at 04:33I find most days I don’t know where to start, so I envy you! I know organization is the key, but I never know where to start.
