Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack

Skylanders Imaginators

My children were on cloud nine when they had an early taster of the latest Skylanders offering – Skylanders Imaginators. My children love Skylanders even without the game – the Skylanders characters encourage their imagination like you can’t believe.

The Skylanders Imaginators Xbox 360 starter pack is the perfect addition for our family as the weather turns and playing outside for hours on end is no longer an option.

The Xbox 360 starter pack contains Master King Pen, Golden Queen and a fire Creation Crystal. Retailing at just under Β£50, it is currently on offer at Argos at Β£31.99.

Skylanders Imaginators plays perfectly in encouraging the imagination of children, with favourite characters as well as Imaginators Crystals to create your own characters.Skylanders ImaginatorsWe were lucky to receive a pack of Imaginators Crystals as well as Tae Kwon Crow Sensei which meant the children all got the chance to create their own Skylander.

Creating your own character is something to take your time doing. You can choose every element of your character, and it’s great fun. The children are so excited about playing with their own creation as well as the three characters we now have.Skylanders ImaginatorsThe children are now at an age (the boys will be 6 in January) where it’s not painful watching them play console games. With Skylanders there’s enough variety to keep them engaged, the games also have varying levels of difficulty and is pitched perfectly for them.

I get so much joy watching them play, I actually think the boys exhaust as many calories as they do at the park for how involved they get. They seem to become one with the character and the controller, bouncing around all over the place. It’s great fun for them and their co-ordination skills are improving at the same time.Skylanders ImaginatorsThe great thing about Skylanders is that it doesn’t have to be about collecting characters. As you make your way through the game you receive items to allow you to change the appearance of your character so there’s enough in playing the game to keep you excited about winning new items. It does seem important to have characters from each element, but it doesn’t stop you playing the game without them.

Admittedly, we will use the opportunity afforded by birthdays and treats to collect a few more characters or to encourage the children to save any money they are rewarded with. It’s just too much fun watching them play Skylanders to not encourage them, especially as we do use console time as a reward for good behaviour. So it’s win-win all round.Skylanders ImaginatorsSkylanders is a great introduction for children to console games, and I am completely hooked on the Skylanders Imaginators as there seems to be a lot more invested when it’s your character playing. The game has so many adventures for children to explore and lots of different types of games which develop so many different thought process.

With the added bonus that the children love Skylanders too, we would definitely recommend Skylanders Imaginators as a Christmas gift.Skylanders ImaginatorsDisclosure: We received a Skylanders Imaginators Xbox 360 Starter Pack, Imaginators Crystals and figure for the purpose of this review. We love Skylanders, Tigger’s teacher always jokes that he can spell Skylanders correctly whenever he is doing some extended writing.
